Education - Training and Awareness Program
Partners in Community Development Fiji [PCD Fiji] has been engaged by the Foundation to undertake and implement water source installation and management projects in sites selected by the Foundation under the Rotary International Foundation's 3H Grant.
This engagement will cover a total 12 project sites for the two-year grant period, i.e. six project sites per year.
As part of its Natural Resources Management Programme, PCD Fiji has agreed to carry out the following processes:
- Inform and consult with key stakeholders in preparation for project execution at each site
- Develop awareness materials on basic water management/ conservation, sanitation and hygiene, repair and maintenance
- Conduct awareness raising and Water Management Planning workshop sessions for the selected sites
- Facilitate the formation of water management support groups at each site
- Conduct Water Management and Maintenance Training with support groups at each site
- Assist in the implementation of water source project
- Monitor and evaluate project process, progress and environmental impacts
- Compile 6 monthly reports documenting evaluation results, progress, challenges, lessons learnt and experiences
PCD Fiji will also involve relevant stakeholders including:
- Provincial Administrations
- Public Works Department
- Ministry of Health and local health authorities, including nursing stations
- Ministry of Education
- Hired Contractors and Plumbers [via the Foundation]
- Live and Learn Environmental Education
- SOPAC
