PROFILE ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFICER

The Assistant Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining day to day financial and accounting services in order to support the Finance and Administration of the organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of receipts and payment vouchers
  • Preparation of advances and verification of acquittals
  • Petty cash management
  • Support to preparing of financial reports and monthly reconciliations
  • maintaining accounts payable and receivable
  • Support to payroll and monthly payroll reconciliation.
  • Payment of suppliers, bills, banking
  • Support to audit preparations
  • Updating FAR and aligning FAR to General Ledger
  • recording of transactions
  • office insurance renewals
  • maintaining and updating personnel files including staff leave/absence and disciplinary records
  • procurement of office supplies
  • filing and maintaining office administration

Required qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Payroll software and payroll accounting.
  • Be familiar with the Labour Relations Promulgation
  • Understanding of PAYE/FNPF requirements.
  • Good organization skills and punctuality.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Understanding of accounting principles
  • basic knowledge of MYOB
  • diploma in business accounting & economics or similar.
  • two to three years working experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in grants management.

Plumbing & Engineering Trade Apprenticeship
This opportunity is open to students enrolled in an accredited plumbing or engineering trade course. Under supervision and guidance of Projects Officers, the apprentice will receive professional development training and work experience in the rural water development sector. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop skills and knowledge, and nurture interest in working within this sector.
