The Field Officer under supervision of the Construction Manager will be part of a field projects team to address safer water needs and better sanitation well- being for needy communities. The suitable candidate should have at least five years working knowledge of water and sanitation type projects, appropriate skills and positive attitude. Interested applicant should have completed a Diploma in civil engineering or similar through experience, with an excellent understanding of village protocol and speak fluent Fijian.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely completion of the construction works;
  • Responsible for supervising and organizing labour force on site;
  • Engage with the community to ensure continued commitment to the projects.
  • Responsible for implementation of Inspection and Quality Control on site
  • Responsible for implementation of OHS policies on site.
  • Conduct required tests and surveys before, during and after construction.
  • Supervise works of contractors, e.g. drilling companies, electrical contractors.
  • Supervise and assist with construction works where needed.
  • On the job training of RPW tradesmen.
  • Drafting of fortnightly progress reports, organize fortnightly community meetings.
  • Preparing of bills of materials
  • Liaise with procurement officer and suppliers as needed.
  • assessment of project sites and evaluation of completed projects
  • Liaise with relevant authorities under the guidance of Operations Manager for data profile needs, and water sampling;
  • Assist the design team during field assessments
  • Assist in drafting water and sanitation management plans.
  • Provide input to engineering during pre-design and design phase
  • Responsible for final punch lists and project closing out.

Required qualifications:

  • Outgoing personality with ability to mobilize and motivate work force
  • Demonstrable practical building knowledge and skills
  • Practical knowledge of groundwater drilling operations.
  • Good working knowledge of MS-office, ability to write basic reports in Word and Excel
  • Driving license B is essential
  • Civil engineering diploma or similar through experience
  • At least five years working experience, preferably in water and sanitation projects.
  • Willingness to travel in Fiji.
  • Experience with water treatment and land application systems is an advantage.

We are looking for a pro-active and dynamic individual to lead our finance team. As Finance Officer you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures. You should be familiar with audits, budget preparations, cash flow forecasting and Payroll. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.


  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Prepare trial balance
  • Lead financial audits
  • Track bank deposits and payments
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Payroll accounting
  • Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Review and implement financial policies


  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer with at least 3 years of experience
  • At least a degree in accounting or finance.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience using financial software (MYOB)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and ERP
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Sharp time management skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data

The Assistant Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining day to day financial and accounting services in order to support the Finance and Administration of the organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of receipts and payment vouchers
  • Preparation of advances and verification of acquittals
  • Petty cash management
  • Support to preparing of financial reports and monthly reconciliations
  • maintaining accounts payable and receivable
  • Support to payroll and monthly payroll reconciliation.
  • Payment of suppliers, bills, banking
  • Support to audit preparations
  • Updating FAR and aligning FAR to General Ledger
  • recording of transactions
  • office insurance renewals
  • maintaining and updating personnel files including staff leave/absence and disciplinary records
  • procurement of office supplies
  • filing and maintaining office administration

Required qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Payroll software and payroll accounting.
  • Be familiar with the Labour Relations Promulgation
  • Understanding of PAYE/FNPF requirements.
  • Good organization skills and punctuality.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Understanding of accounting principles
  • basic knowledge of MYOB
  • diploma in business accounting & economics or similar.
  • two to three years working experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in grants management.

Plumbing & Engineering Trade Apprenticeship
This opportunity is open to students enrolled in an accredited plumbing or engineering trade course. Under supervision and guidance of Projects Officers, the apprentice will receive professional development training and work experience in the rural water development sector.
